Falklands Reunion 2010

The Falklands Reunion took place on the 26th June 2010,at the Wrexham War Memorial. This is a yearly event,that has gone on for many years. It was started by Mark Pemberton,and others,in memory of the Welsh Guards,that unfortunately lost their lives on the Galahad,in 1982.

It is an occasion,in which all the Welsh Guards meet up,in honour of the ones that never came home.

The Service takes place in Wrexham,followed by the Memorial Serivce,of laying the Wreaths.

After the Ceremony,everyone makes their way,to the War Memorial Club,in Wrexham.

My Partner and myself,did miss the Service,but went to meet the fellow (comrades) Welsh Guards,at the Memorial Club. The last time I had gone was around,2006,because I was not in the Country,so I was not able to go.

It was really good to meet up with them,again,some I had not seen,for a very long time. I had not seen Griff 72,since around 1979,we had a good chit chat,going back to the time when we were both in Berlin,in 1977-1979. He has not changed,whatsoever,he is a pleasant guy,I hope to see him again At PorthCawl,in 2011.

Snow Fall In Blaenau FFestiniog

This is a few months after the heavy snow fall,It happened on the 5 January 2010 I got up at around 04.00 am and it was snowing but not heavy ,but while I was getting ready to go to work the snow stared to fall much faster ,I looked out the door again and though ( Oh God this is getting bad )

I got back home and Phoned my Boss to tell him I could not make it ,he told me to give it a couple of hours for it to thaw and then make my way in , at 08.00 i looked out side and it was getting a lot worst even the main road through town was bad ( See Photo Below ) ,so I made my mind up and not go

into work as I would not get there and stayed at home with my Love Vanessa , it was more enjoyable day when we stayed home together .

During the day we took a stroll through my home town to see on how bad it was for us in a small town like Blaenau FFestiniog . It was brilliant and I loved seen the snow so thick here as not seen anything like this in many , many years ,I Also made some film clips of it to as a pice of history for me





It Took the Council 2 weeks before they started to cleat the paths of snow and Ice ,but i did enjoy it and taken pictures and film footage of the weather
